The main problem was an outside hitter, who was set the most, and a middle hitter, set the 2nd most, combined to hit 26-25/76= .013. That is a back breaker. Now, E. Young (16-3/27= .481) and M. Op den Kelder (14-2/34= .352) shined, but 25 attack errors is tough to overcome. If the chance to get a kill is not there, at least keep the ball in play and let the team play defense or the other team screw up with an error.
Serving as a team remains a bit of an issue with 24 aces and 19 errors. Take away S. Adams effort with 7 aces and 0 errors and our serving was not effective. Heck, we had one girl serve 4 times and miss 3 before coach benched her from serving.
Passing was a mixed bag. K. Blissett was dialed in passing 2.09 (67/32). She earns an "atta boy!" S. Adams did well passing a 1.76 (30/17). O. Standard was so-so at 1.44 (26/18). The rest of the passers were on the struggle bus.
It is pretty easy to see how this could have been a 2-1 weekend.
