Saturday found CIViC teams at Caston and Madison-Grant for competition. The elementary teams did well at Caston as Morgan's 6th graders (thank you for helping Mrs. Viney) went 2-1 on the day and their one loss was super close at 23-25 and 23-25. Jordan and Tommie's team of little one went 1-1 pushing their season record to 4-1 on the season.
Tough weekend of hosting as the CIViC teams went 1-5 on Saturday. To be honest, each team is playing a level too high. The 8th grade is a B level team playing A. The 7th grade is a C level team playing B.
The 8th grade went 1-2 losing a painful one to Peru in three, beating Cass Co., and getting hammered by Southwood. The 7th grade's day was even more painful. They lost each match in 3 sets. The first full weekend of play in the NCIPL took place and CIViC teams were active across the power league.
18's The 18's were on the road really early Sunday morning as they traveled to Plainfield, IN where they went 3-1, beating Limestone Capital once again 25-14, 27-25, Nuf Volleyball (Indianpolis) 25-17, 25-23, and Decatur Force 18's (Decatur, IN) 25-11, 25-23. What the heck is with the 2nd sets? They lost to the Starlings 22-25, 18-25. They are now 6-2 for the season. Their stats are in the blog. |
