The 18's opened their season going 3-1. They opened the day beating Limestone Capital (Bedford, IN) 25-20, 25-17. They followed that beating VC (Vermillion Co., Illinois) Power 25-12, 25-18. They won pool play by beating Cass Co. 17's 25-17, 22-25, 15-8. In the championship they lost to Infinity (Wayne Co., IN) 25-19, 21-25, 9-15. Stats behind the "Read More" break.
The 15-8's opened the season with a 2-1 day. They beat an improved Ninja team from Caston, beat up Peru, and lost to a strong Wabash team. We served really well (tip of the cap to R. Gleason, M. Sterrett and G. Ayres) and received well (T. Closson was the bomb), which normally means a team is doing well. That is true more often than not if a team understands their rotation. We did not. I thought we had a decent practice last week, but it did not transfer to match play. Still, 2-1 is a good start, and Wabash is really really strong. Their libero is a varsity level player right now! Lots of room to improve, but it is a good start.
The 15's opened play on a windy Sunday in Wabash, Indiana. They went 1-2 beating a true 7th grade team, 25-9, 25-17. Lost to a blended V2 team that included 8th graders, 13-25, 17-25 and lost to Wabash 7th grade 23-25, 25-19, and 14-15. Serving Stats are behind the "Read More" break.
The 13's put in a full day of play by going back-to-back-to-back-to back! Great job girls and coaches. Thank you to Coach Maryanne for coming over to help. I am sure the extra pair of eyes were helpful to Coach Worl. The girls went 2-2 for the day. Results behind the read more break.
A club season does not start any better than this 3-0. The little ones beat V2 Black 25-11, 25-11, then beat Momentum II 25-13, 25-20, and then beat Ninja Purple, who waved the white flag after getting beat 25-12, forfeit. Sometimes with this age, it is best just to say, "ouch" and call it a day.
