13's at New Castle: We fell into this play date as a team dropped out late last week, and we replaced them. Coach Gleason/Wall's team went 2-1 on the day beating Daleville 25-20, 25-18. Then beat MG 25-15, 25-17. They finished the day losing to host a good volleyball community New Castle 19-25, 20-25. Coach Gleason mentioned Grace Ayres as having a strong day especially serving.
15's at Peru: Two teams made the drive to Peru, Indiana. Coach Eurit/McClain went 1-2 winning their last match of the day. Coach Crum/Worless went 2-1, again, Beating Cass. Co, Knights Klub, and lost to V2, again. Just a note, this V2 team is possibly the best 15's team in the NCIPL since the current Carroll seniors four years ago. Their setter caught my attention a year ago and now they have two very good outside hitters who drive the ball and their libero has really good platform control. Tippy Valley's high school program has a good group of freshmen coming.
18's at Indianapolis: 18's are on a bit of a roll winning the tournament in Lafayette before the Spring Breaks started and now the Academy Spring Fling after the breaks. They beat the Starlings out of Indy in a match that could not be any closer at 28-26, 23-25, and 15-13. Then beat Performance Point pretty easily 25-13, 25-13. Lost in three to Southeast Indiana Volleyball Club 17's out of Batesville 25-27, 25-20, 15-9. Beat VC Power out of Danville, Illinois, 25-16, 25-8. Beat SEIVC's 18's, 25-11, 23-25, 15-2. Then earned some revenge by beating SEIVC's 17's in a rematch 25-13, 25,14 for the championship.
