What I see in the numbers. McMains was dominate in serve WHEN SHE WAS NOT MISSING HER SERVE. She had an ace on 44.8% of her serves. That is why those SIX misses were so big. Jones also dominated in serve as we scored on 71% of her serves. She only missed 3 serves but two of them came on her 1st serve. When you serve that well, you want to give yourself a chance. No one served poorly. We only missed 16 serves on 147 attempts.
P. Jones was again really solid in receive at 1.77. R. Allbaugh continues to impress at 1.63 on 11 balls. M. Viney showed up on our passing radar today as she passed 1.69 on 13 balls. Morgan, your platform was rock solid. Not using that just as an expression. It was really stable. Jenna contributed in a positive way passing at 1.33.
At V2, 13's Gleason/Wall rolled through the day with a 2-0 record. A "Tip of the Cap" go to R. Gleason and K. Wall for their great serving throughout the day. Meanwhile, 13's Madison/Mary Anne went 1-1 on the day. They lost to a pretty good V2 team 23-25, 16-25 and beat Daleville 25-16, 11-25, and 15-13. Finally, 11's Jones and Herr went 2-1 losing the final 15-14 in the 3rd set. Not a bad day at all by the younger teams.
