We had a great run of having the best 15's teams in the NCIPL that lasted nearly a decade come to an end a handful of years ago. Those teams were skilled, had high volleyball IQ's and worked hard. Exactly where Knights Klub is now. Southwood's setter is better than many high school setters right now. They can hit the ball. They can serve it. They are really good.
15's Crum went winless for the 2nd straight weekend. They were clobbered by Southwood losing 2-25 in the 2nd set. Played close the rest of the day but still too many errors in the all important serve - passing game.
Highlights of the Day
Passing
We did not pass nearly as well as we did at Winamac. Then again, Southwood was not at Winamac.
Our 7th grader continues to shine. 16/12= 1.33. When 1.33 is celebrated, a team is going to struggle.
J. Roberts passed 1.40 (35/25). It is pretty amazing that she graded out as our best passer when you consider how aggressive Southwood served her.
No other passers made it to 1.0. Pretty easy to see why we went 0-3 again.
Serving
L. Pontigo (19-1/25= .720) and K. Shuler (7-1/12= .500) were both positive to zone. Add E. Myers to the mix of girls who served well when looking at our ace to error ratio. Those three girls were 10 aces with two errors, a 5:1 ratio.
