It was a bittersweet ending to the club season for the CIViC 15's teams. The 7th graders struggled in pool play with two very good 8th grade teams. Coach Julie's girls lost to Daleville from the volleyball hot bed of Delaware Co. 17-25 and 10-25. They then lost to solid Cambridge City Lincoln 19-25 and 3-25. They advanced to the Bronze pool where they played an improved Winamac team and lost 25-11, 22-25 and 13-15. Other than J. Herron, CIViC was just too inconsistent with their serve is what I hear.
Meanwhile CIViC Denny's team struggled with passing the serve. The day started against a good Blue River Valley team from north of New Castle, IN. CIViC Denny escaped with a 22-25, 25-10, 15-10 win. They then played a 2nd Lincoln team beating them 25-19 and 25-23. The team advanced into the Gold Pool as the 5th (last seed). They played a solid Knights Klub team from 2A power Southwood in Wabash Co. Passing the way we were resulted in butt kicking 4-25 defeat. Southwood missed a couple of serves, we passed a little better, and still lost 24-26 on a couple of missed serves late in the set.
