2.) 16's are a bit of an issue. We are leaning toward one team. That makes it a large team. Something we try to avoid in club. If we split it up, we will have two weak teams. I mean really weak. We lack hitters. We also face an issue with too many Lewis Cass players at this age level. We are going to have to work to resolve that issue.
3.) Walked through the gym a couple of times while the 18's were practicing. We have never in the history of CIViC so completely rebuild that team. We only have one part time player, setter Adelle May, returning. Not a single player from that 2020 team elected to play college volleyball, so they are gone. It is going to be a young team.
4.) We asked an 18's player not to play a couple of weeks ago. The domino effect of that is we went from most of our high school age teams being young to most of our club teams being really young. We have no seniors playing this year. I do not ever recall that in a decade(s). We are short a setter or two. We have sophomores and even freshmen playing up. We have a setter playing front row who provides little in blocking, but she must block as she is setting a 5-1. We have another setter who is a good hitter, who will not get to hit as she is also running 5-1. It is just strange losing so much experience.
