17's continued the trend for CIViC struggling today as the 17's teams both went winless. At this level, it is sure nice to finish points. We struggled with our offense being able to finish points.

It was a rough day for the 15's at Southwood. The 15-8's Amie did not play with any heart. That is tough to do in a one's pool. They went 0-2. 15-8's Tina struggled in receive. They went 0-2. The 15-8's Denny/Claire played decently (and that is after missing too many big serves at big moments) after a horrible first set. They won in three and lost in three to go 1-1 on the day. 15-7's Kelsey/Denny won their first set of the season and played well in every set, but ended the day 0-2. Add it all up and CIViC went 1-7. Ouch.
Rough day for the 18's. It has been many many years since our 18's went winless for a day. They went winless today. They were competitive but could not win.

DONATE FOR LIFE: HER STORY: Emilie was an incredible athlete and volleyball player. She was highly driven on the court and her knowledge and love for the game was apparent in every match! Emilie’s outgoing personality was contagious to all that came in contact with her and she loved her family, friends and teammates dearly. Emilie’s love for others showed even after her passing. Emilie chose to be an Organ Donor when she got her drivers license, and through this selfless act, many of her organs were donated to help save others and hundreds of people were helped through skin cell and tissue donation research. It was a close each time, but CIViC went 2-0 on the day winning each match 2-1.
They had to go three on more than one occasion, but CIViC 12's ended up also winning every match going 3-0 on the day.
The 13's opened their competition schedule by going 1-1 at Tippy Valley. They lost to V2 and were able to beat Winamac. They play tomorrow, Sunday, at Southwood.
The 12's improved to 3-1 on the season with a split at Tippy Valley. They played Tippy's one team and their two's team.
In the 8th grade pool, 15-8's Tina played in a really tough pool going 0-3 for the day. While we are not pleased that they did not get a win, lets acknowledge that they played a number of club's top teams and were competitive in all 8 sets they played but one.
In the 7th grade pool, 15-8's Denny went 2-1, handing Southwood their only defeat of the day, beat CIViC's 15-7's in straight sets, and lost close to Cass County. Serve receive continues to haunt our teams in general and 15-8's Denny specifically. The 15-7's opened the season going 0-3. They also struggled in serve receive and had an injury mid-week that forced them to play a rotation without any practice, which is always tough. Coach Gleason's team opened the competition season going 2-1. They beat Cass Co. 2-0, beat Winamac 2-0, and lost to V2 0-2.
