I am on, under, or near the High Bridge often. It is my favorite place to wade and fish the Deer Creek or I am running the trails or tramp back there with my camera. It pains me that a place I find so beautiful and peaceful is now linked to such horror.
It goes without saying that the two girls, the families, the volunteers who turned out to search for the girls, and even the perpetrator(s) of such stupidity have been in my thoughts and on my prayer list.
It gets a little more personal as Coach Hunsberger, one of our club elementary coaches, needs added to those who need strength through prayer. Before Coach came to Carroll, she was helping Coach Amie with the Delphi volleyball program. She coached both of the young ladies just a couple of years ago. Coach texted, "Good kids yes. They were a total joy to be around and fun to coach."
Also Coach Gleason, both Amie, Ben, and their children need to included in prayer. Their oldest boy is in the same class with the two girls. I would think that there are some restless moments when thinking of his classmates.
A lot of innocence, personally and collectively, that comes with living and growing up in Carroll County just vanished.
