Indiana State University Movement Drill is traced back to going to visit an acquaintance who was an assistant coach at ISU. The first thing they did were volleyball movements without a ball. When I first saw the girls doing these, I laughed to myself and thought it a waste of time. After talking to the coaches, the players and some reflection, I decided this made a world of sense. We have called it ISU Movement. What a great thing to have in our toolbox that we can do at home.
When we are working in ISU, players should be working on two step, R/L, (this needs to be practiced as an approach and in Puerto Rico), three step, L/R/L and four step, R/L/R/L, approaches plus slides, L/R/L.
