Hi coaches (and any other interested parties).
1.) Thank you to those who knew that Gretchen's Mom was in the hospital and extended care for the last three and a half weeks and offered support and prayers. We brought her home this past Wednesday. She is doing so much better. Thursday morning was the best I have seen her in the past year or even year and a half. It has certainly complicated life for Gretchen and me, but we are making headway for sure.

2.) Practice at 1:00-2:30
12's team Coached by M. Jones & M. Herr
Sarah Jones, Emily Justice, Elle Skinner, Olivia Stankard, Meilee Thorp, Hayley Bowman, Jaelyn Kingery, Mallory O'Brien, Addy Robinson, Annalese Ellis, Ella Byrun, and Rylie Lanum. (12)
13's team Coached by A. Gleason and T. Wall
Grace Ayres, Ashlan Kingery, Reagan Gleason, Maicee Sterrett, Daizee Myers, Daisy Powell, Jessica Goodspeed, Kaylee Wall, Kalin Gardner, Emily Goltz, Eliza Byrum, and Areli Peterson. (12)
Coaches, these teams are set and ready to go. Yes, 12 is a smidge big, but not a major issue at this age. We would have to add idealy four but at least three to form two teams. They are ready for full practice along with any meet and greet activities you wish. Each team has a court.
Please remember that we want to stress the following keys from the get go.
Forearm Passing:
1. Hand and Wrist Together
2. Arms Straight and Simple
3. Face (the ball) and Angle (the arms)
4. Shuffle (L/R to move forward, R/L to back up, Out-In-Out to move sideways)
Cues:
Remember, that the ball only knows angles.
Keep it simple. (Complex movements are harder to master than simple)
Less is more. (The less we move the more biomechanically we are correct)
Passing a volleyball is all about platform management
3.) Practice at 2:30-4:15
16's team Coached by C. Birnell & Z. Birnell
(10)
16's team Coached by D. McMains & E. Loe
(10)
Coaches, these teams are not set as this is the age group where we have lots of decisions to make. Bring a tablet of paper to make notes. Also there will be a number of players, they will be identified, who will be considered for 17's as they are freshmen or sophomores but played varsity at their home school. Coaches are welcome to pull kids out of drills to work with them. Both teams will be running 5-1's as we do not have many setters in this age group. We will spread out over two courts with the curtain up. I will conduct the practice as much as possible without interacting with the Carroll kids allowing coaches to make notes

(10)
Coaches,`18's team is pretty much set, but we have lots of decisions regarding 17's. Gretchen is running the practice. Bring something to make notes. From what I can see, there are a number of outside hitters. Glancing through the paperwork, I do not see many middles. Coaches are welcome to pull kids out of drills to work with them. We will spread out over two courts with the curtain up.
